Announcement (19 Aug 2010) NAATIs New Interpreters Project (NIP) in Sydney

This intake will be assessed for a workshop to be conducted in Sydney.

The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd (NAATI) is administering a national project, funded by the Australian Government.

The Project aims to increase the number of NAATI interpreters in both metropolitan and selected regional areas around Australia. The Project will target these areas to increase the number of interpreters in new/emerging languages, rarer languages and languages for which there are shortages in rural and regional areas.

Deadline: Applications for the New Interpreters Project must be received by the 5 November 2010

RMIT University announces its interpreting courses for 2011

Advanced Diploma of Translating and Interpreting

This program trains students to NAATI professional level of accreditation in:

  • Dialogue interpreting, sight translation and consecutive interpreting
  • Translation from English into LOTE (Language other than English), and
  • Translation from LOTE into English.

Diploma of Interpreting

The Diploma of Interpreting trains students in dialogue interpreting to
paraprofessional Level.

The The Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT) Conference will be held on 5 and 6 November this year. It will include a presentation by the creator of the language featured in Avatar.

HOW TO APPLY:

Confirm your language is eligible
Complete all parts of the ‘Application for NAATI New Interpreters Project’ form available from NAATI

Complete an A Form ‘Application for Accreditation by Testing’ OR R Form ‘Application for Recognition’. These forms can be downloaded

R Forms must be accompanied by official references (see Part 4). Recognition cannot not be granted until all eligibility criteria have been met.

Include proof of identification and passport photos verified and signed by a witness as specified in the forms.

Follow the checklist provided in the forms to ensure you have completed ALL the sections and submitted ALL required documentation.

Do not send any money. There will be no cost to people who are approved to participate in the project.

All applications will be reviewed and successful participants will be notified in writing.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

You may have had difficulty contacting All Graduates recently.

We have, this week, transferred from one telecommunications provider to another. While we had been assured that there would not be any disruption to our business, this and last week in particular, you may have experienced moments when you were unable to contact us.

These problems are our business' highest priority.

Our telecommunications provider and telephone supplier have escalated the problem to the top level of support.

The most serious of issues have been addressed and will continue to be monitored closely.

In addition, we are reviewing our phone system in its entirety and expect this review to be completed within four weeks.

What options are available to you if you are unable to contact us by phone ?
