Information for Victorian Onsite Health Interpreters Only

Last update: 6 April 2020, 3PM AEST

Dear Interpreter,

Following my email dated 2 April 2020, I am writing to you today to advise of an update to the Service Delivery Form (SDF) signing process for Onsite Bookings undertaken at the following Hospitals and Health Services

  1. Melbourne Health including City Campus and Royal Park Campus
  2. Eastern Health including all affiliated sites
  3. Western Health including all affiliated sites
  4. Austin Health including all affiliated sites

There has been feedback received from interpreters on the potential exposure to bacteria and germs, which may persist on surfaces such as shared pens, note pads and Service Delivery Forms (SDFs).

Consistent with adhering to social distancing rules as well as to limit close proximity contact between interpreters and Hospitals/Health Services’ clinicians, we have consulted and sought consent to dispense with the requirements for Hospital/Health Services clinicians and personnel to physically sign the All Graduates SDF during this heightened period.

What this means

Effective as of today until further notice, you will not be required to obtain a signature from the clinician/health service personnel.

You will still be required to clock on and off for each booking and MUST still submit your SDF (signed by yourself ONLY) and upload via the mobile app as per normal processes.

Normal procedures regarding extension of booking times will still apply. E.g. Please contact the head office for extension approvals if your booking will run longer than the booked finish time.

Please note that at this stage, this procedure only applies to bookings for the above-mentioned Hospitals/Health Services.

Kind Regards,

Ismail Akinci
